Yes, but, mostly from older little boys. It is maddening. I love that he sings princess songs and you are both right, screw them!

Its a fact of society IN GENERAL it is ok for girls to play with trucks and be tomboys, but boys can't play with dolls (action figures are ok) or wear pink/lace/ruffles.

I personally believe you should be more in tune to what you kid desires to play with rather than forcing gender specific things on them.

However, if you encourage him to play with princess dolls, don't be surprised if he gets ridiculed for it by kids AND other adults in his life.

I have to say, I don't encourage or discourage. When we go to a shop and I am in the mood, he is allowed to pick out one thing to buy. He picks a princess, that is what he picks. I guess, I just wish that people would grow the hell up. I get kids are mean, but on the flip side. A little girl looked at her mom one day and said that boy has a doll and the mom said, boys can play with dolls, so what. THAT is what I am looking for. I know I won't win, but, it just sucks!
